What’s the Difference
Between a Bookkeeper, Accountant & CPA?
I know, sounds like the beginning of a good joke…
A Bookkeeper does not require a formal degree. The focus can be more task orientated with daily transactions and monthly reconciliations.
An Accountant has a 4-year degree and can focus on analyzing, and interpreting the data for financial strategy purposes.
A CPA is a Certified Public Accountant. They have taken the same education courses as an Accountant. The difference is they took a CPA exam which tests their understanding of what was taught in college.
“Have they started a business from ground zero?”
As Small Business Owners, our first instinct is often to turn to CPA firms for advice on how to GROW
But have you ever stopped to ask, “What gives them the ability to truly understand my business?” Have they built something from scratch? Do they know firsthand the juggling act of running a business while balancing employees, family, and overall well-being?
That’s Where Kim’s Small Business Accounting is Different. Kim isn’t just about the numbers—she’s walked the walk. She’s started and managed Five companies, wearing every hat along the way:
